Road to the 2017 Chicago Pro

The IFBB Men’s Physique Pros will hit center stage this weekend in the Windy City at the 2017 Chicago Pro. Tim Gardner Productions and Wings of Strength present the Chicago Pro, which is an NPC National Qualifier and will host several different IFBB Divisions. The Men’s Physique Division will do their best to impress the judges and wow the crowd on Friday, June 30th. As the Olympia draws nearer, competitors will bring their best overall packages with outstanding conditioning and detailed symmetry in order to leave Chicago triumphantly with a first place win and Olympia qualification. This year’s Chicago Pro has an almost completely different lineup, but will not disappoint as competitors and Olympians such as Ryan John-Baptiste, who decided to stay in the Men’s Physique Division, Chase Savoie, and Brandon Hendrickson headline the lineup. The 2017 Chicago Pro will live up to the host city moniker, the Windy City, as this year’s competition is certain to blow the judges away.

Somewhat of a surprise to the competition this weekend is the 11th Place 2016 Olympia competitor and United Kingdom native, Ryan John-Baptiste. John-Baptiste was originally set to compete and move into the Classic Physique Division  the July 1st weekend in Chicago. However, John-Baptiste said in a vlog on his YouTube channel ( that he felt as if he had “unfinished business” in the Men’s Physique Division, and he thought he had ample time to make his way back to the Olympia stage after looking at the point standings. According to the standings, John-Baptiste currently sits tied at 11th place with five points. In the vlog, he alluded to his viewers that he still wants to compete in Classic, but wants to take his time and make sure he is prepared.

Chase Savoie is still sitting in the top five of the Men’s Physique Olympia Point Standings. Savoie has competed in a wide range of shows this year and has consistently placed high on the scorecards.  He  recently finished 3rd at the Dallas Europa a few weeks prior. With another top five finish in Chicago, Savoie would find himself in the top three in point standings. It will be interesting to see if Savoie can finally pull off a 1st place finish this weekend  and punch his ticket back to the Olympia.

Brandon Hendrickson, an Illinois native, is already qualified for the Olympia this year after taking home 4th last year. Hendrickson placed 3rd at the star-studded New York Pro earlier this year and is looking tough to beat. The hometown kid, and 2016 Arnold Champion, will undoubtedly make his presence felt this weekend.

Tristan Murray, who finished 2nd in last year’s Chicago Pro  will make his return to Chicago in hopes of pulling off a number one finish this time around. After a 4th place finish at the LA Grand Prix Pro earlier this year, Murray needs another top five finish in order to potentially qualify himself for the Olympia.

Sergi Constance is another competitor to keep an eye out for this weekend. Constance has competed in several NPC events, but he obtained his IFBB Pro status by winning 4 NPC Overall shows. Winning 4 overall shows allowed him to submit his Pro Card application through IFBB International. The fitness cover model and competitor from Spain is in search of his first professional IFBB win this year, and may be able to do so in Chicago.

These competitors will be joined by at least ten other Men’s Physique Pros this weekend in Chicago. This weekend will be a show that IFBB fans will not want to miss as the competition grows stronger the closer the Big O stage gets. For more information on the Chicago Pro visit:
